SUMMER PROJECT: COURSEWORK PLANNING

 Innocent:

1) What is the unique selling point of the product?
The unique selling point of the product is that it shows exactly where the product came from and who makes it. It also shows how buying the drink can help other peoples, especially where the fruits came from.

2) What audience do you think this is aimed at? Add as much detail as possible (e.g. demographics, psychographics) and explain why.
The audience I think innocent is aimed at for demographics is for audience ages 15 and higher while for psychographics is for audience who is hard working and helpful.

3) What do you notice about the technical construction of the advert? Pick out one thing you like about the advert from camerawork, editing, sound or mise-en-scene. You may want to focus on TV advert conventions such as voiceover for example.
I noticed that the technical construction of the advert has a narrator and shows how Mark likes innocent. I also noticed how there's a lot of pause to emphasise on how Mark can help peoples from Uganda by buying innocent. In addition I noticed that the camera is still and it doesn't move, it either zooms in or zooms out. The editing looks more fun and and shows a lot of arrows to let the audience know what they are talking about. The mis-en-scene shows how Ugandan wear their usual clothes, which suggests that they are working hard and they don't need to fix themselves in front of the camera because they want to show their hard work.

4) What representations can you find in the advert? This may be representations of people or groups or perhaps the brand itself.
The representations that can be found in the advert is diversity. It firstly shows Mark and how he goes on with his normal day wearing his casual clothes for work. And then it shows how there are different flavours of innocent.

Lucozade:

1) What is the unique selling point of the product?
The unique selling point of the product is that it boosts your performance giving you energy in a more easy way.

2) What audience do you think this is aimed at? Add as much detail as possible (e.g. demographics, psychographics) and explain why.
The audience I think Lucozade is aimed at for demographics is around 15 years old and above, this is because many teenagers and above are full of energy. While for psychographics is audiences who are interested in doing sports, this is because it boosts their energy.

3) What do you notice about the technical construction of the advert? Pick out one thing you like about the advert from camerawork, editing, sound or mise-en-scene. You may want to focus on TV advert conventions such as voiceover for example.
I noticed that the technical construction of the advert used diegetic sound in the first 7 seconds and then used non-diegetic sound throughout the whole add. In addition, I noticed his costume he was wearing casual comfy clothes, which links to the idea that he was walking through the neighbourhood, which means it's a usual day for him.

4) What representations can you find in the advert? This may be representations of people or groups or perhaps the brand itself.
The representations that can be found in the advert is an area where everyone feels secure. It is also shown in the advert how they lack diversity, this is because there are no English people that can be seen in the advert, there may be one, the person who was walking the dog, but the camera didn't focus on the persons face, or they didn't show the persons face.

Other health drinks advert: O'cean one8 Active Water

1) What is the unique selling point of the product?
The unique selling point of the product is that it is a flavoured beverage that suits everyone.

2) What audience do you think this is aimed at? Add as much detail as possible (e.g. demographics, psychographics) and explain why.
The audience I think this is aimed at is 20 and above, this is because the advert shows adults who are financially stable. While for psychographics ae for those who are workaholic, this is because the advert is filmed in a company like building.

3) What do you notice about the technical construction of the advert? Pick out one thing you like about the advert from camerawork, editing, sound or mise-en-scene. You may want to focus on TV advert conventions such as voiceover for example.
I noticed that the technical construction of the advert is that it lacks diversity, this is because almost everyone are from the same ethnicity. Another is their costume, the way they dress shows how they are focused on their work, while some of the people in the advert are wearing casual clothes, which shows juxtaposition between successful people and those who are average.

4) What representations can you find in the advert? This may be representations of people or groups or perhaps the brand itself.
The representations that can be found in the advert is how the main character is blurry and everyone are confused with it, and when the character drank the product he became clear. Perhaps they want to convey that their drink is healthy, and it links to the idea of their title "O'cean one8 Active Water", which shows how their product is as clean as the ocean.

2) TV advert planning

Plan out the brand of health drink you are going to use along with the narrative and character for your two adverts. You also need to plan elements like the slogan, settings, music and more.

Answer the following TV advert pitch questions with your original idea for health drink TV adverts aimed at teenagers and young adults:

1) What brand of health drink are you going to use? You can use an existing drink.
Dr Witt

2) New slogan for the health drink (MUST be original - cannot be existing slogan):
"Stay healthy so you won't need a Dr"

3) Main character(s) that will appear in your adverts:
1 person

4) Narrative: What will happen in your first advert?
The character drinking Dr Witt before practicing dance and after practicing.

5) Narrative: What will happen in your second advert?
The character is eating junk foods but still drinks Dr Witt to maintain or balance eating habit.

6) Where will you film your adverts? You need a different location for each advert.
At home and park.

7) Who will be in your adverts?
My sister for both adverts.

8) What music will you use for your adverts? What voiceover will you use and who will you use to record the voiceover? Note: for music you can use existing music tracks.
I will use lively sound for my first advert and then use a funky/ funny sound for my second advert. I will use my sisters voice to say my slogan.

9) How will your adverts appeal to your 15-30 year old target audience?
This will appeal to audiences 15-30 year old because they can relate and some of them might see themselves in the same position as the character.

10) What TV channel and programme would your advert appear during and why? Remember the brief states a mainstream TV channel or streaming service.
My advert would appear during ITV, this is because most adverts tht appear in ITV are innovative and creative.

3) Statement of Intent
I chose Dr Witt as my healthy drink because it is a unique product due to the enrichment of vitamins and minerals to support the proper functioning of the body, such as: Immunity, beauty, metabolism, vitality, and antioxidation. Moreover, it reminds me that if someone gets sick, they always go to a hospital, this links to my slogan "Stay healthy so you won't need a Dr", which lets the audience know my intention to try and keep them safe and to prolong the life of everyone. I chose a narrative of drinking Dr Witt before and after dancing because it lets the audience know that they should maintain their health before and after doing something to ensure that they are taking in a balance and healthy diet. As for my second narrative, I chose a character eating junk foods, this is to convey to the audience how bad it can get if they always eat junk foods, but to equalise their eating habit, they should have something to wash away that junk food, and that is Dr Witt. This will appeal to the audience through the idea of "personally relating" to something. In addition, the target audience is 15-30 year old. My advert can influence the audience because of how at the age of 15-30 years old, many will want to keep on doing their hobbies while carrying on their balanced healthy diet. As for the sounds, I chose a more lively song to still give the audience the idea that they are still young and have a lot on their way, which links back to the idea that everything they have done or the blood, sweat, and tears they had to suffer for all their hard works will be gone if they don't start to take care of themselves.
