Look at the KISS media pack carefully. This will give you a brilliant background to the brand and how they target their audience (important note: it features the old Breakfast presenting team). 

Answer the following questions:

1) Read page 2. What is KISS FM's mission?
KISS FM's mission is to entertain more 15-34 year old than any other BAUER media brand and is extremely influential amongst this hard-to-reach demographic.

2) Look at page 3. What is the target audience for KISS FM? As well as writing the key statistics from the media pack, try and suggest what psychographic groups would fit the KISS audience too.
The target audience of KISS FM is 15-13 yrs olds and 60/40 female to male split and untitled by their love of music and cool stuff they're into right now e.g. travel, movies, and technology.

3) Now look at page 5 - The KISS network. How does KISS use digital media and technology to reach its audience? 
KISS use digital media and technology to reach their audience by connecting with audience through a multi-media platform their strategy of presenting content around the music they love and the things they are into.

4) Now look at the other side of page 5. What content do KISS Fresh and KISSTORY offer and how can audiences access those stations?  
KISS Fresh offers biggest tracks, some of the hottest artist and producers in the industry. They play the biggest urban and rhythmic tunes. Audience can access these stations as it is available on DAB (in London), Freeview, Sky, plus at KISSFMUK, via the KISS Kube app, on social and at events.
KISSTORY offer the very best Old Skool and Anthem. Audience can access these stations as it is available on DAB (in London), Freeview, Sky, plus at KISSFMUK, via the KISS Kube app, on social and at events.

5) Read page 6. What are the different ways audiences can actively engage with the KISS radio brand? 
The different ways audiences can actively engage with KISS radio brand are app, live events, online, and radio.

6) Are listeners to the KISS Breakfast show active or passive? You can argue this point either way - explain your opinion in your answer.
The listeners of KISS Breakfast are active audience. This is because listeners can send in requests or shout outs to friends via Instagram, snapchat and TikTok. Perri has over two million followers. Download the Kiss Kube app stream. Runs over 100 events every summer.

7) Now think about the clips you've watched or listened to of the KISS FM Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri. What audience pleasures are offered by the KISS FM Breakfast show? Use Blumler and Katz Uses and Gratifications theory here.

8) How have audiences changed in terms of how they listen to music and radio since the 1960s?
Audiences has changed in terms of how they listen to music and radio since the 1960s as the generations becomes modern and they are able to listen to music and download an app in order to improve social media so that they can have better access.

9) How does the KISS FM Breakfast show contrast with Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 Breakfast show and the launch of BBC Radio 1?
KISS FM Breakfast shows contrast between Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 as KISS FM Breakfast show has a more modern concept than Tony Blackburn's 1967 Radio 1 show and KISS FM Breakfast has more knowledge of computers, editing, etc. Similarly, BBC Radio 1 was launched in the 1960s so they most likely have the same type of concept.

10) Use Stuart Hall's Reception theory to offer a preferred and oppositional reading of the KISS FM Breakfast show. For the preferred reading, why do fans love the show? On the oppositional side, why might someone criticise the show or not want to listen?
The preferred reading is that they can have better access to social media and they can learn more from it. The oppositional reading is that most teenagers would listen to it and that they might focus on social media more often, which may lead to learning or seeing things they're not supposed to see especially kids between the ages of 5-10.

KISS FM was first launched in 1987. The type of station was Pirate Radio Station.

2) Look at the Bauer Media Group's list of brands. How many different types of media can you find on there? What brands do you recognise? 
There are 79 different types of media that can be found. The brands I recognise is dragon radio, Greatest Hit Radio, heat, KISS, Magic, Q Radio.

3) How does KISS FM make money? 
KISS FM makes money through advertising, sponsorship, and events so needs high listening figures to generate cash.

4) How many listeners does the KISS Breakfast show have and how has this changed in recent years?
KISS Breakfast show have 2 million listeners, and this had changes in the recent years as they are struggling to maintain their audience in the digital age.

5) How is KISS FM regulated and what can happen if they break the rules?
KISS FM is regulated by Ofcom and if they break the rules they'll be fined.
