 1) List the companies involved in the creation of Black Widow. You may wish to use Black Widow's IMDB entry to help with this - see the company credits page - but the answers can also be found in the notes above.

-Marvel and Walt Disney Studios-2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment for US$4 billion. The Walt Disney Company now owns Disney.

2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Black Widow?
-Conglomerate are subsidiaries which means it's a smaller companies. This links to Black Widow because Disney is an example of conglomerate ownership; Disney owns Marvel.

3) Analyse the film trailer for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie?
-The trailer tells the audience that it's a blockbuster because it has a star power in it, which means they targeted the mainstream; this will established fans stream the film. Having a female main character makes the film more interesting as many films has man main character, which is different from Black Widow. The director made the setting realistic, especially as it has a large surface area, they also made the character's suit or costume look futuristic, as it's not worn usual.

4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film.
  • Traditional methods (poster) was effective because it all over the place, and more audience can see it.
  • Stars of the film (appearing on TV chats) was effective because they can talk more about the behind the scenes, and all about where they've been to.
  • Film trailers (YouTube & Cinemas) was effective because the producer know that it's more modern these days; more audience use social media than TV.

5) What was the production budget for Black Widow and how much did it make at the box office?
-The production budget for Black Widow was $200m and it only made $379m at the worldwide box office due to the pandemic.

6) Would you consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?
-I would consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster because if only it wasn't released during pandemic it would've been more successful and more famous, but the audience couldn't judge the film as no one knows if they would be successful if there was no pandemic.

7) Who regulates the film industry in the UK?
-The film industry was regulated by British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). They give an age rating and content warning for all film released in UK.

8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?
-Black Widow was given an age rating of 12A. It was deemed for "moderate violence, injury detail".

9) Look at the Marvel Black Widow website. How does the website help to promote the film? Give specific examples from the website and how they appeal to the audience.
-The website was able to help promote the film by making sure that the trailer is there, that also made a brief summary, so that the audience know what they are about to read. They also photographed different parts of them when shooting, they made posters, and there's an information about the casts, and related movies to Black Widow. They used Cinema: special link with IMAX, DVD and Blu-ray, and they used Disney+, as they know that many audience like to watch different films their own way.
 
10) Read this feature on Marvel using a fan's tweet to help market the film. Why is audience interaction such an important aspect of modern film marketing?
-Audience interaction is an important aspect of modern film marketing because many audience tend to watch films on social media nowadays, so Disney tried a different plan. They tried marketing their film a lot more in social media. They also thought that even a random person can make a new billboard highlight. Disney wants to make sure that they know what their audience wants, so that they can have ideas on what they need to improve.
