Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response

Create a new blogpost called ‘Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response’ and then copy in the feedback below. Complete the learner response task below the feedback.

WWW: Planning posted, and a 40-second preliminary exercise posted by the deadline – well done! You’ve got some strong editing moments such as when you cut to the close-up of the drink being taken off the fridge shelf. The establishing shot and the over-the-shoulder shots when you track the character’s movement when they are walking to the fridge and heading to the park give a good perspective of the character’s journey. Effective use of diegetic and non-diegetic sound included in your advert. Now you need to use this experience and your editing skills to deliver two excellent 40+ second adverts that meet the brief.

EBI: Think about the pack shot when your character is dancing – ensure the whole product is shown for your pack shot (part of the drink name is cut off). The audio for when the slogan is stated it quite low perhaps as you are outside and competing with the noise of being outside. Consider more emphasis on how the drink is providing the audience with more lifestyle aspirations such as more focus on the performance and improvement of dancing because of consumption of the drink.

LR: As your learner response, write what you are planning to make for your real coursework. Will you choose to make the 2 video adverts or 3 print adverts? Explain your decision.

I am planning to make 2 video adverts for my coursework. I will be using the same idea as I did for my preliminary task but I will be re-shooting the videos with a different shots and angles.
