CAMERA MOVEMENT AND EDITING
1.) 3 aspects of camera movement:
- The director used pan camera movement to show the audience the characters realistic actions and to show the audience that John is still concerned about the girl pointing the laser at him. This makes the audience feel curious about what's John's next step gonna be as shown in the scene that the camera followed the movement of the girl.
- The director used Dolly camera movement to track the characters movement smoothly as the scene shows fast pace. By using Dolly camera movement the audience won't feel nauseous and the audience will understand that the scene is intense.
- The director used handheld camera movement to show the scene's urgency, realism, and uneasiness. This makes the audience feel the tense up, feel the high determination of John to run from the police.
- The director used pace (fast) to show rapidity as the character looks serious and swiftness of John as he looks set on the run. However the director also used slow pace to show that John had a moment where he doesn't know what to do for a second. This makes the audience feel like they won't care about John or like the audience will feel like they just want John to be captured and put on jail, but since the director used both slow and fast pace the audience would also feel anxious and addled.
- The director used realism to show John's 'real' conversation with the police. Realism was also shown in the setting, props, and editing. When John was on the train station there were lots of people roaming around wanting to get on the train, the director made these plan to show that it was a nice calm, usual/ normal day, and then the polices showed up and that's where the fight starts. This will make the audience feel 'out of the ordinary/ out of the blue as the others say. This also makes the audience jump on their seats out of curiousness. This will also make the movie more interesting than any other movies.
- The director used medium close-up to zoom in on the characters facial expression on how the police and John communicates with each other. This will make the audience to take a deeper look on what the characters are talking about.
- The director used long shot to show the setting and the characters positions on the scene where they start circling around John. This will give the viewer context and brings clues to the scene that let the audience know where they are.
